Many of our riders have been working hard towards the RDA Proficiency Awards and during February they were assessed for the Blue Grade 1 and/or Red Grade 2. These awards are a great way to recognise and reward achievement at all levels of ability. Matthew Dalley the North Midlands Regional Participant Representative visited Belvoir Vale to present the awards to the riders. Volunteers Ellie and Molly were also presented with their Bronze YELA ( Youth Equestrian Leaders Award). 

In the Autumn we hired the facilities at Scropton for a special away day for those children who were unable to come on our Summer holiday.

We took three of our own ponies, Roma, Pumpkin and Ali to give them the opportunity to use the lovely outdoor arena and then we enjoyed a celebratory lunch. Everyone received a medal and certificate to recognise their achievements throughout the year.

We have an adorable new pony, Alfie. He is a 7 year old 12 hh dapple grey, Welsh Section A.

Although he is quite young he is experienced in lots of activities having done Pony Club and some showing with his previous owner.

Our Christmas party was held on December 16th. It was a very cold day for the 16 children who had a fun riding lesson followed by an arts and crafts session in the warm Club House. They then patiently gathered in the garden to watch Santa arrive in a horse drawn carriage.

Everyone received a gift from the man himself and then tucked into some homemade treats.

Congratulations to Team Belvoir Vale who enjoyed great success at the recent National Championships. The results tally included three 2nd places, a 4th, a 5th and a 6th. Well done to Kira Majithia, Louisa and Sophie Heath, our riders, and our competing ponies, Roma and Ali.
